Who am I ?

magnify.png

A linguist. A writer. An educator. A photographer. A marketer. A fundraiser. A designer. A leader. A thinker. A memorist. A fighter. An enthusiast. A fan of all things German. An amateur arborist. An animal lover to my core. A dreamer hoping for a world of compassion, patience, understanding, and acceptance. A jill of many trades, master of most.

Although I am not an Atlanta native, this city has my heart. For just over six years I have been an ATLien, enjoying all of the obvious perks like Piedmont Park, The Beltline, and Little Five Points. Additionally, I love to pop in at Joe's in EAV, grab some Persian food at Del Bar, or get a cone at Voga. You might also find me visiting the Jimmy Carter Center, Martin Luther King Jr. Historical Park, or admiring the fascinating architure in any of the lovely historic neighborhoods.

One of the most exciting parts of the city is leaving it to explore all of the other fabulous places within a short driving distance. I am making it my goal to visit as many hiking trails in the state as possible, and so far I have made a solid dent: Sweetwater Creek, Providence Canyons, Arabia Mountain, Yonah Mountain, Tallulah Gorge, and quite a few more.

My website serves as a portfolio for me personally and professionally. I am a busy person who has a lot of interests and decided to catalog them here while sharing them with others.

Author
I have a story for everything. Try me. Give me a topic, and I can relate it back to a story that I either experienced firsthand or one that was relayed to me, just like my mom and her parents used to do. My blog is a collection of my life's stories, things that ruminate in my head at night (when in the car, in the shower, or even when in conversation with others), and the start to my first upcoming book 2.0, You are Awesome!
Photographer
In 10th grade I took a photojournalism class and excelled. I was introduced to 35mm SLR photography and film development via Mrs. Hewlitt and her brutally honest criticism which then led to two years on the yearbook staff. From there I chronicled my life, captured the love of animals in need, and documented major life events of friends and family. After a short hiatus, I am back to admiring the world around me through the lens of a camera.
